Parish Tree Planting
In November 2021, the Parish planted 105 saplings of working wood and 30 saplings of a small copse in a corner of the village recreation ground. The trees were kindly donated by the Woodland Trust, with no finance required from the Parish Council. About 30 villagers turned up on the day to undertake the planting, followed by tea and cakes afterwards. All were volunteers.
This event really brought all ages of the community together, with young children and seniors working together, helping to "do their bit" to create a lasting environmental legacy. The children will take particular pleasure in watching the trees they planted grow.
The planting has now been registered on the Queen's Green Canopy website - see below.
